The wound

So, Emily and I are walking the hellion. I had my hair up in a clip, but it started to fall out. Thinking quickly, not wanting to stop walking, I wrapped the extend a leash around my arm so that my hands would be free to fix my hair. Just as I did that, Sabrina spotted a posse of birds that she wanted to investigate. She took off and I got this extraordinary rope burn that goes around my left arm. I have to say it hurts. a lot. Oh, and if you want to see the latest video of the silly mutt.

Another TAKS day down.

Today was the social studies TAKS which is a total joke. There were kids done in 30 minutes. We couldn't release them until 11am which was already an hour earlier than we released every other day. Since they got released early, we have 1 hour and 45 minute classes for 7th and 8th periods today. On a Friday. Great the already spastic classes for even longer. What a beating. The whole day.

Yesterday afternoon when I got home Eva had made quite a mess in the kitchen. Actually she made 6 or 7 messes of various types. She is going to have to be a 24-7 kitchen puppy now.

Tonight Video Technology has their awards show. They do it off campus and have presenters (Yours truly is one) and jazz it up in a Hollywood way. They give "golden cabers" awards for best videos etc. Very cute.

Yesterday I finally put up shelves I had bought. I haven't stained them or painted them yet since I haven't even figured out what I'm doing with the room at all. But I was able to empty four boxes of books. I had to borrow a hammer from Emily since I have no idea of where mine is. Makes me nervous I've be hacked if it gets sold in the garage sale in error.

Ok, 7th has arrived so back to the grindstone.

Photo ops

Meet Hank. Sabrina is totally in love with him. He lives on Swiss Ave, and she starts tugging on the leash about 1/2 block away. At this point they are both totally exhausted, but unwilling to stop playing with each other, so they lay down but continue.
This is the yard I want. I love all the different flowers. Beautiful.
Sabrina playing the silly green toy I got her when she was an itsy bitsy baby. She is a lot bigger than the toy now.

I don't know why this picture is sideways. It looks right when I open it in photoshop. I included it because it makes me laugh. I walked into the living room, but I couldn't find the silly Cat. Then I saw him. Just hanging.

Topics of interest

Craziest thing ever. I was one of the proctors for the TAKS test today. The room were were in was set up with the chairs divided in 1/2. They all faced the middle so there was an aisle for the teacher to walk down between them all. I started passing test booklets out when I realized all the girls had sat themselves on the left and all of the boys sat themselves on the right.

BBBC continues. I"m hot weighing myself until the end of the second week. Those of you that really know me understand how difficult that is. In moments of true obsession I've been known to weigh myself two and three times a day. Hey, I'm not saying it is right, I'm just noting that I've done it. This shall be a true test of my control. I'm trying to eat six small meals a day. One can't veer from the path too much when eating six times a day.

Eva. Last night, rather than walking to the kitchen to pee as she has graciously done in the past, Eva decide to pee right beside the bed. I had a nice surprise when my foot hit the ground this morning.

Sabrina had a really long walk and she played with Hank for a while yesterday afternoon so she was a delight. Of course, she can't stand to not give me some kind of stress so she disappeared last night. At any rate, I realized I hadn't seen her in a while so I started the search. Looked inside, looked outside. I was getting my shoes on to start canvasing the neighborhood when I looked in the back bedroom. Don't know why, but I did, and sure as snot, there she was.

Since Cat owns the front of the house, he is less than pleased currently since all of the g.s. stuff is in the front with him. His seating options are now quite limited. Speaking of the g.s.

Mother of All Garage Sales. I spent some time on Ebay last night trying to figure out the value of my possessions. A disheartening activity at best. I really need the section that shows all the stuff that has sold and for how much but I couldn't find that. Ann, who has worked many a garge sale is going to help me price stuff. Thank heavens, cause I have no idea. I did manage to find a website that gives advice and tips on how to hold a successful garage sale. The list of stuff is pretty extensive though. Please let me make lots of money. I have things to buy to replace the things that are going ; )

I finally managed to get to the post office and mail Monica's Christmas gifts. I'm slow, but still ahead of her. Fran's I continue to hang on to in hopes that I'll actually get to visit her soon!!

Mom and Dad have been out of town for awhile visiting relatives and attending Mom's class reunion. It's a miracle nothing disasterous has happened. Something tramatic usually does happen when they go out of town.

Yearbook theme week continues. I'm so excited. They have great ideas and I think this group is going to work well together. Two years in a row of good staffs?! Go team.

My senior photo editor has already written a letter to the new photographers, and he is making plans for how to make the year go well.

The Book - Yup, still killing me. Now orchestrating many people. Shawn taking photos and filming, Kevin making appts for Shawn, Barry helping me out by transferring video that I take to DVD, Diane (different lady than my friend) scheduling appts, Sherry, Christine and Ryan doing research and the 70 people that all have to be coordinated to be interviewed etc.

Medicine - weird to have this topic. Pam, is doing really well, but the doctors saw something at some point, so she is going to have to do some more chemo. She needs big prayers. Diane's dad is really sick and he is having surgery soon. A lot of stress and fear of the unknown right now. Pam in Florida is due any day now. They had a really difficult time getting pregnant and staying that way, so I know they are very happy that the newest MacInnes is about to arrive.

I haven't mentioned Scoobie Doo lately, but that is because I'm working hard to avoid the hell out of him. It helps immensely with not being annoyed by him. It would help if he'd stop acting like a total idiot, but this is a much more immediate solution. Of course I'm trying to avoid him and people keep coming to tell me what he is doing. I am ready to get that check for mentoring. This has sucked the life out of me.

Big Bootie Boot Camp

Yesterday began BBBC. I am going to eat 6 times a day, walk Sabrina every day and work on the house every day for at least an hour. OK, so it isn't total boot camp, but it does require iron control which I am determined to exert over myself. I am also trying to be sure I drink tons of water which brings the unfortunate consequence of tons of pottying.

I went to the grocery store this evening. I bought chicken, not my favorite, broccoli, I adore, and other stuff. Look out world.

I also began seriously working on the mother of all garage sales. I've basically filled up the front living room in the first round of picking things out.

This week is TAKS testing, so the schedule is off. We test until 12, lunch until 1 and then 2 periods each day. Monday we had someone come in and work with the kids on theme, and it went really well. So, now we are spending the rest of the week ironing things out.

My neighbor Emily's mom fell Sunday. She has 24/7 care for the next couple of weeks which is good cause Emily can't do it alone.

Work on The Book continues along. It is becoming more difficult because there are now so many people involved in making it happen. A lot of coordination.

I haven't heard from the vet yet telling me what the biopsy found.

The hellion is snoring on the loveseat as I write, so I should run along to bed now.

Listening to Christmas music on the Ipod

Why? Because I can. I want to learn how to do pod casts etc, so, of course, the Highlander had to get an Ipod. Until I get going with the podcasts, I figured it wouldn't hurt to have some tunes on it.

MB got back from Tokyo Disney, foolishly called me and had to listen to me whine excessively about my sad little life.

The good news is that I finally went to Primacare. Yes, it did take over an hour and a half. Painful. I did get antibotics and steroids. If that increases my appetite I'm screwed. I can hardly get through doors as is. OK, it's not THAT bad, but if I keep up this pace it will be. sigh.

Yesterday when I took Eva to Dr. S. I thought she was at death's doorway. Well, really, the other side of the doorway. He took a sample of the HUGE lump on her neck, and a sample of her blood, and an x-ray and sample of her urine (which it so happens she provided without his asking.) He said he would call me back today, but since he only works till noon on Thursday, guess that means he'll call Friday.

He gave her some wet food to eat that she just nudged and ate a tiny bit. Turned out to be a good thing since she threw up in the car. Yuck. Got her home and to bed. This morning before I was out the door she was chowing down the wet food. This afternoon when I let her out she saw Jellybean the neighbors cat crossing the street. Eva practically leapt about and almost chased her!! Then she ate all of her dinner. She hopped up a few minutes ago when I let her out too. I really wish she could talk.

Sabrina continues to be the hellion. We walk along fine and then she wants to attack my shoe laces and, in general, be a pain.

Cat, is Cat. Emily loves Cat. She gives him treats every time she comes over for our walks.

I have no idea of how many interviews I've done now, but it feels like a lot. Considering I have to do about 70, I'm pretty sure I've barely cracked the surface. Grrr. There is so much that I need to be doing it is really stressing me out.

I've taken a bunch of photos recently, but I don't have the energy to get them on the computer just yet, so think of this as a tease.

Good luck and Good night.

this and that.

After school yesterday I got a hair cut. Todd at Orange Salon. Put my hair in a pony-tail flipped it over my head and cut off about 4 inches. So now it has lots of fun layers, and it is waaaayyy lighter.

Eva had a doctors appt at 7pm. She was having trouble breathing. I think I gave her my cold. But the doctor found a very large tumor on her right lymph node. The vet was a little quick to say it is cancer, but he gave us two different types of antibiotics and sent me to buy "little noses" for Eva's cold. Her gums look really red, so I think she has a bad infection, but if she's not better in 10 days then it is probably not good news.

I have three interviews today for The Book. I thought the first one was at 9:30, but it was an appt that had been changed from a previous date and time, and sure enough I screwed it up it as supposed to be at 1pm. Luckily, I was able to reschedule to 2:30pm. It is going to make the rest of my day tight. Yikes.

In solidarity with MB who is having snow in April, my feet are freezing because it has taken a turn for cold here too. Expecting 30 degrees or so on Easter morning.

Last night hot and humid tonight cool and chilly

Freaking Texas weather. Emily and I walked Sabrina last night and I thought I was going to die it was soooo humid. Total misery. Tonight it is about 60 degrees. My neighbor, Linda, said that it is supposed to be about 35 degrees this Saturday night. Crazy.

I've picked up a weird little cough. But I'm taking all my little vitamins etc. so hopefully it will clear up along with the sinus infection.

This morning I could not wake up for anything. I hit the alarm for about 40 minutes. We have a faculty meeting in the morning with the superintendent, so I have to get my silly butt out of bed in the a.m.

Since there is no school Friday, tomorrow is this weeks Friday. Exciting.

The Last Boundaries Class

Well, after missing several weeks, I managed to make it to the last one. Got to watch a video of the new "sherrie" a girl with boundaries who knows how to say no to people etc. Ah some day.

After class my friend John took me to the Vitamin Store (that is actually what it is called) and told me what to get to get good health. There were some weird things on the list, but we'll see how it goes.

A moment to think about book club

The last book club of the year was last night. We read On Beauty. I love this book club because even though people might not like the book, they still find parts of the book they like. They analyze the book and really think about what they liked and what they didn't like. There is one lady that has this blonde curley hair and something like 13 children. When she really likes something or really likes a book, she describes it as delicious. That is so cool.

I love the fact that when I pick up a book to read it now I wonder if I will find it delicious. Something to think about. Hope your next book is delicious.
