Monday was an inservice day so no kids. It wasn't the worst inservice ever, in fact, it wasn't bad because they let us get work done for once in the afternoon.
Monday began my birthday week properly because Pam and I met at La Mad for dinner. It was great to see her in such good health! She looks fabulous. She remembered I want to decorate the kitchen in red so she got me a red basket, some napkins, a winnie-the-pooh tin and the cutest ice cream scoop I've ever seen.
Tuesday was TAKS testing. That means the day was totally screwy rabbit. I had Barnabas so I was going all day and then I went to the boundaries class.
Wednesday was another Senior Ads Meeting Night at 7pm. So another day basically shot.
Thursday was the special day and the kids were great. They wished me happy birthday all day. Then they all got together and got me an awesome wallet.
I took the hellion on a long walk and then I went over to Burgundy's house for a little Gray's Anatomy. She made a really yummy pie for dessert.
Friday I went to dinner with Mom and Dad to celebrate my birthday and Mom's. They showed me a picture of the porch swing they are getting me for my birthday. I am very, very excited. I can't wait.
Last, but not least, Ann and I went to a movie Saturday morning. We saw Music and Lyrics. Very cute, very fluffy.
Then, Diane picked me up at about 6pm. We went back to her house, where we were joined by Jean (the dog whisperer) and Gail (Diane's boss in previous blog pictures). Then we went to dinner at Momo's.
I have pictures, but I am such a slacker I haven't put them up yet, and at the rate I'm going I'll never get them up, so I am posting sans photos.
Details of life as I find myself changing my life for the better. Sure I could be mature and even tempered, but slightly crazy and an emotional car wreck are more fun.

4pm Sunday Afternoon
I have graded a ton, but sadly, there is still more. I haven't looked at a single proof yet, and I haven't made the list of interview questions that MUST be sent in the morning. And since tomorrow is an inservice day, I won't be able to get anything done. They are so cranky about us doing other things during the instruction.
Mom and Dad came by to drop off mail and I took them to the Garden Cafe for lunch. Nice little walk around the corner, and voila, lunch.
Late yesterday afternoon, I got to meet with Dr. Michael Scott Raines, my researcher extraordinaire for the book. He has done a ton of research and given me lots to work with. That took about 2 hours, and I was really tired afterwards, so I went to bed fairly early.
I called Roto-Rooter to come "clean out my lines" because when the toilet is flushed the bathtubs gurgle. After about 3 hours and over $400.00 (what a racket), I have been informed that I have about a month of clean lines before the tree standing over part of the line inserts its little root back in.
Oh, and he discovered a leak from the bathtub.
In addition, the cult is having a party tonight. It would be quite likely that I would skip it, because it is a "fun" event and I have work to do, but I have already gotten a phone call from my friend Deborah verifying that I would be going. Hmmmm, how did she know to do that?
Back to work.

What a week
I am currently quite frustrated because I finally got our tech dept to get blogger back on the ok list, then blogger forces me to "update" my account and now the web address isn't on the approved list. Grrrr.
So, although my pitiful life continues to provide fodder for the amusement of my friends and family, I can't freakin get online to tell my tales.
For instance, my exciting weekend is going to include grading a (sorry for the expression but there is nothing for it) shitload of English papers. I had already been derelict in my grading when I got sick. I haven't been able to get myself excited about grading since. So, it has, to say the least, piled up.
In addition, my savvy and hardworking editors, darn their hides have gotten all the people pages done and left me a fun weekend gift. Grrrr.
Oh, and because I can't stand the thought of a free minute I also have to get the list of my interview questions figured out by Monday for the first real estate interview.
Actually, as I sit here contemplating this weekend. I think I might hyperventilate.

Day 3 of the let me die illness
Drinking vitamin C on the hour, gargling salt water on the hour. Theraflu every four hours. Still can't breath, and I sound like a frog.
I took the hellion for a walk. I swear she is trying to kill me. She attacks my shoe laces as we walk. I can't imagine how wretched she would be if I didn't walk her at all.
I finally took a shower. I feel better just because I am clean. Would be nice to actually be better, maybe tomorrow.

Day 2 of the let me die illness
At least today I can get verticle. Yesterday was awful. This is the curse of well, I don't know what. But I will say I was basically healthy when I logged in the absence on Tuesday. I had plans, but alas, they were not to be. Wednesday was a beautiful day, and I was DYING. GRRRRRR.
Poor Sabrina was dying too. I let her out, but the girl needs the type of exercise that only walking gives, besides that she's scared of the neighbors weiner dogs, so she won't frolick if they are out barking at her.
Eva wasn't bothered in the least by my inability to function. She continued her pattern of sleeping all day even with me there.
Sadly, at one point I left the back door open and the hellion decided to make open air portion of the screen. sigh.
I did manage to take Sabrina for a walk earlier today, although I'm fairly certain I wore myself out way more than I wore her out.
Now I sit here with snot draining down my throat, a nasty little cough, a slight headache and an inability to sleep. why, oh why. Maybe it's time for me to go back to bed anyway.

Being pecked to death by hens
That has been my life this week. No one huge thing. Just a whole lotta little things. For instance, Wednesday or Thursday, I finally have a couple of minutes to work on the old blog. But no, apparently some time this week, the marxist regime for which I work fixed it so that I couldn't get on the blog. Even more annoying than the fact that I wasn't going to be able to attend to personal issues, we were finishing the non-fiction unit, so I was going to show different types of blogs as non-fiction writing. . . but noooooooooo can't access them. Grrrr.
I left Sabrina at home on Monday but brought her Tuesday. She had discovered her ability to bark which is probably not condusive to learning. I got caught by Scooter (another teacher here that is not, shall we say, fond of me) with the hellion. I figured I had about 48 hours before she told everyone in the administration. Of course, it helped that most of them weren't in town. The hellion was just BAD. So, she spent her last school day in the yearbook room for a while. Mind you I am here working today and she is with me, but fewer people for her to terrorize on a Saturday.
Charlie, Sabrina's friend, died Thursday. It just sucked. Diane and Kendall did pretty well handling it cause by the end, he was ready to go. They were troopers.
I can't remember all of the other annoying things that happened, but the list was extensive, trust me. At any rate, I am working the Winter Beefit at school tonight. Maybe we can start fresh Sunday with the not being pecked to death by hens week.
